Raquel's Restaurant & Catering: A Culinary Gem in Salem, IN

Absolutely wonderful food! The atmosphere was vintage and decorated beautifully. I got the bacon jam burger with fries. The fries are soooo good with ranch. The husband enjoyed the hot ham and cheese, and my daughter raved about the club sandwich. They have an upcoming buffet on March 20th, I believe, will be worth checking out.

THE BEST FOOD IN INDIANA!! We found ourselves unexpectedly in southern Indiana for a couple weeks. We are from NJ and we love good food!! We found Raquel’s searching through Google. The owner Victor waited and served us. We had the bacon jam burger and wedge salad! And the Molton lava cake for dessert. This place is off the charts! Love the inside of the restaurant! We are hoping to go back for their Sunday Brunch! Thank you for the food and experience!

Just got done have dinner for Valentine’s and the service was wonderful. The staff works so well as a team and we’re all happy to help with anything that we needed. The restaurant ran very efficiently and calmly (which is something you don’t see in the restaurant industry often). The food was wonderful and the pricing was an amazing deal for Valentines. We live about 40 mins away and wanted to try out a new place this year and I think it’s safe to say we will be returning!

I can't say I've left very many reviews, but I had to take the time right after we left. Raquel's is worth it. If you're passing through Salem, IN or live locally and haven't been, this is your sign to go. Located in the shockingly beautiful historic public square, we came on a Saturday around 2pm to an almost empty restaurant! Let's fix that. Now, most waters from most restaurants leave me feeling sick, but to start with, their water was clean and delicious. We ordered the steak & fries, and bacon jam burger. The steak was seasoned lightly and cooked perfectly medium as requested, the feta cheese spread was incredible and made the dish. Beer battered fries were well done, my favorite!! My boyfriend claims the bacon jam burger was his absolute favorite of any variation from any other restaurants we've been to. Perfectly cooked burger, the jam was just the right balance of bacon and sweetness. The bun was toasted to perfection and everything came together like magic. Even the restrooms were spotless, comfortable and well stocked. Our absolute compliments to the chefs and the friendly service team!! I also wanted to mention how much I adore the decorations, and the historic photos on the wall. I hope this place stays around for a long time coming, you'll be seeing us when we pass through again :)

They absolutely blew me away today. I love their food and order and dine in regularly. They went above and beyond to help and serve me as a handicap individual this evening. I appreciate everything they did. Great service, great food and great people in our community. We love our small town!

First off, I like the location and atmosphere of this place. I have been here twice now and I'm completely surprised there isn't many people here. This place should be poppin'!!! Service was excellent, I was seated quickly and the server was very adamant on providing everything I needed. I had the chicken wings for an appetizer... delicious!! The bourbon sauce was different but excellent! For the main course I had the Reuben sandwich and chips. Excellent cook and presentation! Over all I really enjoyed this place! Hope to see more people here in the future!

if you are in or near Salem, IN looking for some authentic, homemade from scratch recipes then this is a must stop. Located in the square there is plenty of seating family and kid friendly. The ambiance is very welcoming and the owner and staff are very friendly. There is something here for everyone and the portion sizes are excellent. I had the grilled chicken salad and the roasted Brussel sprouts. Delicious! Highly recommended.

We stopped by for dinner on our travels through southern Indiana and so glad we did. We ordered the fried pickles, they looked like french fries! Tasty! We had Salmon with roasted vegetables. One of the best salmon’s we’ve had. Also the Bacon Jam Burger with Beer Battered Fries had so much flavor, more than we we were expecting. Finally the large Pork Tenderloin with gravy threw it over the top. So worth the trip in to eat some from scratch amazing food! Thank you for making my birthday dinner memorable!
